About

Maxson McDowell PhD, LMSW, LP, has been in private practice as a Jungian analyst in New York City for 35 years. For 30 years he has led two therapy groups, both of which are now online. He recommends group therapy as an additional or alternative way to get help with your issues. He is a faculty member and past-president of the C.G. Jung Foundation in New York. Previously, Dr McDowell studied painting in New York with Robert Casper, who studied with Hans Hofmann, a contemporary of Braque and Picasso in the School of Paris. Before that, he was a molecular biologist at Duke, M.I.T., and the Medical Research Council Laboratories in Cambridge, England, and then became a tenured college professor in biology.
