Purpose
What is NYAAP’s Purpose?
The New York Association for Analytical Psychology exists to advance the theory and practice of Jungian analysis through professional excellence, ethical integrity, and collegial community.
For nearly a century, NYAAP has served as the premier professional society for Jungian analysts in the greater New York area. As a founding member of the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), we maintain the highest standards of training and practice while fostering the continued evolution of analytical psychology through teaching, publishing, and clinical innovation.

As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being
Vision
We envision NYAAP as the recognized authority for Jungian analysis in the greater New York area—a place where people seeking depth-oriented therapeutic work can easily connect with qualified analysts, and where analysts thrive within a professional community that elevates the practice of analytical psychology.

Mission
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional practice while fostering the continued evolution of analytical psychology.

Providing professional enrichment and continuing education for members
Conducting regularly scheduled professional meetings and symposia
Supporting the integration of Jungian theory with contemporary clinical practice
Contributing to the broader psychoanalytic and psychological communities
Our Values
Our values shape how we practice, how we relate to one another as colleagues, and how we serve the broader community seeking depth-oriented therapeutic work.
These five principles guide every aspect of our work—from the training of new analysts to the daily practice of depth psychology. They reflect both our commitment to Jung's legacy and our dedication to the continued evolution of analytical psychology through professional excellence, ethical integrity, and collegial support.
